Celebrated Miami Artist Leonardo Hidalgo presented this weekend a controversial Art Exhibition for a National Cause. The name of the exposition is  "REMEMBERING HEROES OF AMERICA" in commemoration of the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. Present at the opening of the Expo were The City of Miami Firefighters who supported the artist's impressive work.
 
Grammy Award Winner Alejandro Sanz also teamed up with Leonardo By Signing an Art Guitar To be Exhibited for Auction to Raise Funds for The Benevolent Association on the Opening Night.

Leonardo Hidalgo, internationally known pop artist based in Miami, tells the story of 9/11 from a unique and artistic uplifting perspective through his eye popping vibrant color large scale paintings.  The private opening reception took place this Friday, September 9, 2011 in honor of The City Of Miami Firefighters who attended at CAFEINA Wynwood Exhibition Center (WEC). Hidalgo has created a visual feast of 12 large-scale paintings exploring the meaning of good and evil, freedom, liberty, the force of divine justice and superheroes.  In these painting he wants to honor the memory of the lives lost in the attacks of 9/11, the firefighters, police rescue units and the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives to defend our liberty.  Hidalgo says :

“It was a very special moment to be together that night with the firefighters, our true heroes, and honor them while remembering a moment in history that changed the world forever. I hope that with my art I can make people feel and believe in liberty, justice, and spread some heroic virtues in the consciousness of society.”

Hidalgo’s unique style combines pop art, the American way of life, comics of his time, and Japanese art. Ecuadorian by birth, Hidalgo, has made the United States his home since 1990 and lives painting as a career ever since.  His work has attracted international acclaim and is collected worldwide for his fine art paintings and memorable portraits of famous faces.  He melds photography, computer graphics, pastels, paint and fabric to create his wide variety of individual art pieces.

The exhibition will be in exposition to the public will be open to the public from September 9 through September 25, 2011 at CAFEINA Wynwood Lounge. Cafeina is a multi-room resto-lounge and art gallery with a lush outdoor garden. This indoor/outdoor tapas-style hangout is the hottest place in the miami art district and the perfect place to clelebrate such an important event as 9/11's 10th anniversary.
